have you tried a different cable or charger?

Yes, both.I had a rest yesterday when "UPHILL" was assisting me (Thank you Uphill). I will continue with the lamp.

It is tricky. LiIon batteries can degrade over time if the minimum charge is not maintained. Some BMSs may refuse to charge if the cells have over discharged, as a safety feature. As @Sharky says, leave the light plugged in for some time with a known working cable to see if it comes back to life.

What does BMSs mean please?

BMS stands for Battery Management System. It takes care of charging the battery with the right profile to the right voltage, and stops deep discharge while in use. Some BMSs are more sophisticated than others. I suspect the lezyne is on the sophisticated side, and it has decided that the cell in your light is not safe to charge any more. This is a good thing, when a LiIon cell goes they don't go gracefully, they go kaboom.

As CR says above if you get a quality item you get safe quality parts, sadly cheap copy batteries, chargers, integrated lights etc from various suppliers may not have a bms or any safety built in. The result is usually quite spectacular, see youtube or ask your local fire brigade they will have seen loads. Usual culprits, ebikes, scooters, hover boards to name but 3. You buy an OEM battery its guaranteed by them and the various standards they test to, buy copy parts and they don't. Sorry Rant over. PS good luck to the OP on resurrecting his light.

Next time you put a light or other battery item away in storage for a long time not using it. I would suggest making sure it is at least charged around 50%. Then check the status of the battery every six months or so. Do the same for any stand alone spare batteries.
