I know others have mentioned a tool kit. I can only see a mini tool kit when I look at the site. I might be interested in a proper tool kit if they had one.

The thing you have to remember with Lidl is it is cheap for a reason.

Noticed this too and wondered if it's maybe that some different items are available in different parts of the country?

The large tool kit was on offer earlier this year. I got one and have made good use of it since. Some of the tools are a bit on the 'cheap' side, but overall good enough if used with a little care. The next offer with the tools may be around Xmas or early next year (going on past experience).

The range they offer each time seems a bit hit-and-miss. Just have to hope that what you're looking for is included. For instance - they have lights, long sleeve shirts and jackets, so aimed at autumn/winter you'd think... but then there's a cool bag!

Looks like they don't have the "Ortlieb" type panniers this time either. They're very sturdy those ones, but completely crap fixings which are not pothole proof.
Bit of a false economy really. I'm using the real things now.

Popped in to Lidl this morning. Got 2 tops,1 bottoms and a jacket. Jacket looks a bit heavy duty even for winter use to me but might be good for walking in. Tops and bottoms look o.k. though. Won't be wearing any of it today though as the sun is emerging and the temp is supposed to climb a bit.;) Happy shopping everybody.

I bought shirts, jacket, trousers and gloves. My two boys age 10 and 11 fit into the ladies small tops (haven't told them they're girly ones) and they are ready to go out NOW. so I have made some sarnies and we're going on a little jaunt. Let's hope rain stays off. Actually some of the trousers would have been ok for them but wasn't sure whether mens cycling trousers were different from ladies and there were no small mens size.

I was there are 8am and there was already a queue, the guy in front of me bought about 8 tops.

I got a computer, let you know how it works out.

And to the smarties who lambasted me for saying that the LIDL computers I bought before were not water proof, cycle computers are 'all' waterproof, stupid pig, they said. Did you see that the guy who cycled around the world had 'both' of his Cateye cycle computes pack up in the rain?

So naaa ;0)

I assume the ocassion you are referring to was when he was riding 100 miles a day in the monsoon season ?

I think it is fair to say this is pushing the capabilities of the cycle computer to its limits. However if you feel bath sealant is the way to go on your computer :biggrin::biggrin:

Naa back

They only packed up because he had no silicon to put on the contacts at the back. The silicon gel he used for his ar*e was a good alternative and a nice touch.
