You are a man after my own heart, I'd love to take my 'Blad' for a spin on that!
My trip was with one of my Hasselbladskis (Kiev 88) and a full compliment of lenses!

Mine is a VERY second hand 1967 Hasselblad 500C which has seen better days, I'll admit!

It does, just about.

I took to see about getting it repaired and maybe overhauled as I know it hasn't been quite right for a long time, and was told that to get a serious fault repaired properly, I'd have to send it back to Hasselblad. In Sweden.

So, I have to save up to send it, but I am tempted to go on a little holiday over there at the same time anyway!!

A little more Vindec Porn
I took her out for her second 50km trip and ended up at the reconstructed Roman fort in Manchester, appropriate really as I excavated this site in 1978/79 the same time the bike was coming off the production line.
Picture aged by moi to give it a contemporary look.
I plan on taking her over to Ribchester, another Roman town in the next week or so, though there are some serious hills between here and there!

That is the issue with real Blads, repairs can cost an arm and a leg, with the Kiev one can send it direct to Kiev (the city) and have it back for around £60, that includes shipping.

Hi.

I have just joined after reading this thread .
Super initial picture and a great series of chat.
I have purchased my first vindec today, to restore for my partner, fingers crossed.
Just a mere £1 at local auction.

Sod the bikes. I want a Blad. I've wanted one for years.
I've a yen to be a MF B&W film guru. It will never happen.
Shame.

I do like a nice 3-speed roadster, even the lesser known ones.
I can clearly remember seeing Vindecs around in the late 70's and 80's in reasonable numbers. Almost all were 3-speed roadsters, plus a few Shoppers. Don't recall seeing any racers personally. They were nowhere near as common as Raleighs (but then what were?) but they weren't super-rare either. Much like Elswick-Hoppers, Halfords brand (not Apollo) and Universals, and Puch, they all had a relatively small share of the market but were around in reasonable numbers.
I would be interested to see close up shots of the frame dropouts, to see if they were conventionally brazed or the cheaper swaged flat and welded method used on some cheaper gas pipe frames made by Puch and Kalkoff to name but two. It's easy to just focus on the more expensive quality vintage stuff, but let's not forget lightweight 531 bikes were always in the minority throughout the steel era, and most people rode relatively cheap hi-tensile utilities, of which the Vindec is a typical example.

Brown Brothers were "factors", if you wanted a bike spare super quick they could supply but we're not cheap. The Vindec bikes again were not as cheap and cheerful as some other brands.

Do "factors" still exist?

May I suggest Record Vice Blue? Or more correctly I believe it's called Roundel Blue (and yes I've got Record vices on my workbenches). Another colour which would look really good on an old steel frame is BS381 #106 Royal Blue, slightly darker.

I have one two, on the restoration list. I need to find decals from somewhere.

Decals aren't a showstopper as regards just refinishing and riding on a frame. They can always be used unliveried or with just a minimal headbadge or whatever is readily available.
