I'm posting this in the caff because it might be of general interest.
I read in a German bike mag today that Rohloff is about a year away from introducing a 20% lighter version of his speed hub. It will still have 14 equally spaced gears but the range will go up from 520% to 580%. Because it will be a bit lighter and smaller it may be that he won't recommend it for tandems and extreme cycling.
