Can anyone recommend a good set of lights for around the 35 pound mark please

Are you looking at road lights, or off road lights ?

Can I suggest the Phaart lights from Planet X/On One. I have: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/LIPHAEN3W/phaart-aeon-3-watt-led-front-light and http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/LIPHBPDRL/phaart-bleep-dual-05-watt-led-rear-light and like a lot. Lots of light for not very much money.

Have several of the rear lights mentioned by Phil above, they really are good for the price.

I use a Chinese 1800 lumen CREE job from a UK supplier for commuting, 16 odd notes. I've been pleasantly surprised.with the battery life, performance and finish.

Are you looking for lights to see on unlit country roads or for drivers to see you on urban roads? Personally I use Lezyne for the latter but probably more like £50-60 for front and rear. Cateye are decent, too

lezyne do some really good light sets such as the hecto and zecto bike lights that are really bright and are good value for money.
