I need something that isn't going to ride up and expose my lower half, as is the case with the dhb cosmo I'm about to return. It's a shame as the jacket is great in all other regards. Why do manufacturers assume small means short rather than slim?

My measurements if any help - 5ft 9, 31" waist, 36" chest

Had same problem finding my waterproofs, and sadly don't have the answer. I'm 6,2" and with 38" chest, in theory I would need a Medium jacket, but in practice getting the right arm length mean't going for XL.

You would be best dropping by an Evans or Decathlon store (or similar) and trying on several different sizes/jackets...

Gore jackets seem to always have silly long arms and a slim cut

While we're on the subject, why do so many manufacturers assume having s 34" waist means you must take no longer than a 32" long leg?

Thanks for the options. On reading reviews of the above it appears the old adage of given 3 options you can pick 2 applies. Looking at the gore jackets now but I'm also a little hesitant at those prices.

Given you're in the big smoke with access to lots of shops, why not go try some on. Evans in Mortimer street have lots of clothing, and also condor if looking at the mid to high end. This is the time of year to get jackets
