Hi, can anyone recommend a product to remove lime scale from our bathroom taps as the usual supermarket products don't seem to work. Thank you in anticipation.

I use a couple of teaspoons of citric acid in the kettle every few months. I quite enjoy it. Chemistry in action!

Yes, I know. I have no life.

I solved my limescale problem by moving from Hampshire to Sheffield.
Damn - I was just about to suggest a one-way rail ticket to Yorkshire!

The difference in the water was one of the things I noticed very soon after moving here. When people from 'daarn saarth' stay with me they comment on how nice the tea tastes, and I always notice how bad it is when I visit them.

I come from a very soft water area (South Devon).

I have come to love the hard water here (S Staffordshire) despite all the lime hassle because of the excellent beer making qualities it has. Hard water, the unfair advantage when it comes to making home brew.

Thank you for all your replies. I was looking for some kind of gel to put on and leave but the plastic bag idea with vinegar/lemon juice or maybe limelight banded on and left overnight sounds like the solution, I will give it a try.
