Lincolnshire events and rides

Hello all, I'm a beginner in road cycling and live in the Lincolnshire area.
Are there any events or charity rides around this area that beginners can participate in or should I get some more experience before looking for adventure lol.

I only know of a couple:

Lincoln Grand Prix weekend, sometime in May (Google will help you here...) the Saturday is when the sportives happen, there are 3 or 4 different lengths of ride (30-100 miles) I think. The Sunday is when the proper guys do it.

The second one is a castle to Coast to castle ride I do each year, it's a local business thing (again get on google, something like c2c2c2014) it's 100 miles in a day though so depends how "beginner" you consider yourself as to whether you try it this year, your place of work may already have people doing it? It's towards the end of June this year I think.

Other than that, myself and a few mates tend to enter sportives a bit further afield (Nottingham etc)

You have a lot of cycling clubs in your area, I thought I listed them for you a while back, they all organise lots of events. Not sure who you work for, but I am sure you will not be far from a fellow cyclist.

Hello thanks for your help i got your email I posted this around the same time. I've been really really busy with work this month and not had anytime to do anytime really yet alone cycling lol. I will be able to get about soon. I feel as i would be to much of an amateur to join a club. Thanks for your help hopefully meet up so I can gain some experience.

You are never too amateur to join a club, can you average 12 mph for an hour, if you answer that yes then you can do 14mph for a couple in a group, plenty of club runs at that speed about.

i've just signed up to do this one in june. only 51 miles but my first event for over ten years lol
