My dad (as a young signalman working in London) also notified the UK armed forces in the far east to commence operations in the Korean war. He said they flagged his name up on the Cinema screen as he sat watching a film and when he came out, there was a motorcycle despatch rider waiting for him in the foyer to get him back to HQ.

I know a Broad who played for England too...didn't score for ages, and thought there was some sort of boycott going on....

My best mates dad (when I was at school was one of the kids of Lancashire Cricketer Geoff Edrich. The whole house downstairs was a shrine to Cricket with all sorts of that stuff lying around.
Geoff was a POW on the Burma railway. He hated the Japanese with a vengence for what they did to him and is colleagues. He went ballistic when my mate wentandf bought a Honda bike in the early 80's

We have two young girls who work with us. Both are quiet , wouldn't say boo to a goose and their hobby is Ghost Hunting!

If you fly into Luton or Stansted from the north your aircraft may route via a waypoint called CLIPY named after an ATC officer surnamed Clipp who redsigned the airspace in that sector.

In a previous life and while waiting admission to controller training school Mr C worked with me at a London County Court.
