I am planning to do this ride in the summer, but I cannot make up my mind as to which bike I should go on. I have a Specilazed Sirus Hybrid and a Trek Domain 2. The trek is great for hills, but the Specilazed is a more comfortable ride and perhaps better for the off road bits.
Your thoughts?

Hybrid .
Live near the Hornsea end & would not want to do it on a pure road bike

I don't know about much of the route (trans penine?) west of Hull, but I live in Hull and like to ride to Hornsea and the rail trail would not be comfortable on a road bike, the hybrid would be better.

(I actually stick to roads, which are fairly quiet on the whole)

I have gone on a road bike between Broomfleet and Flaxfleet but it's not comfortable: it's gravel/rocks and I wouldn't do it again.
