Lon Cambria: Route 818 Variation.

Anyone ridden this recently? I was planning to go from Aberystwyth to Newtown in a day, which would be a bit of a stretch for me. Route 818 cuts off the loop through Rhayadar. I have already cycle that part of the route, so wouldn't mind missing it out.

I will be on a road bike. Online research turns up opinions on route 818 from being "OK", to a cart track with big rocks and ruts!

Hi. I am riding it in a couple of weeks on an Audax ride. Did you ride it? If so, how was the surface for a road bike?

Got postponed last year because I had a major operation. Hoping to do it soon. The best info I could find was a couple of photos, which showed the edges of the road being very eroded, but the centre OK'ish. I think that the badly eroded section si only about a mile long, so you could always push your bike.
