Has any one else noticed that London buses are starting to move back to white on black destination panels on the front rather than the yellow on black we've seen for a few years?
Way back when I was knee high to a grasshopper (so we're talking over 30 years ago) I learnt my craft as a computer programmer. Everything back then was text based and for a while we were allowed to get away with bizarre colour schemes like pink on green etc. Eventually it was drummed into us that yellow on black was the most readable colour scheme (I remember this because I had always, like many people, assumed that white on black would be better).
So have London buses done some research that suggests white on black is better or are they just harking back to the "good ol' days"?
