Have only joined CC yesterday ( Ex Royal Navy Gooner from Walthamstow, E London ) and dont know a single person but well up for it! I work in IT these days and IT people generally bore the cycling pants off me ( sorry IT guys ) and planning ways to avoid our annual Christmas bash lol, last year they went to Nando's with a £15 voucher each and all left straight after the food....Anyway, you will see me in corner on my own nursing the strongest real ale they sell in an Arsenal shirt . As for the great music debate background music rather than conversation killer music would be best then I have something to tap my Lidl training shoe to!

You really need to work with proper IT people. Since when have IT people eaten at a Xmas do, you would have been stoned out of the restaurant with old motherboards when I was in IT for that.

Hi am totally new to site and know no one have been Whitehall/Westminster based 5 years a little walk from you is the Windsor Castle formerly the Cardinall Pub, far much nicer than Chandos. Likewise its a Sammy Smiths so value for money no thrills , cheapish food.

How can a pub be nicer than the Chandos?? Been going in there for years.
However I may give the Windsor Castle a look one day, it's about equidistant as I'm based at that end of Whitehall

Confirming my attendance finish at 6pm that eve but will try and get away bit earlier... will we be wearing ID badges lol! Who do I pay ? can even drop it in pub as I more or less cycle past there twice daily ? Hopefully, by now and 2nd December will have sussed out a few names/handles my Leytonstone neighbour is going, south coast posse Pompey look they are attending.

Its a lot nicer than Chandos, trust me lol..... am near Parliament Sq, well Great George Street to be exact...
Sorry for not paying attention to this thread, but is the booze-up in the Chandos now, and not in the Castle?

Hi Claud no the booze up is still the Castle on the 2nd. There was talk, started by Davywalnuts, of a second booze up to be held on a later date.

I've just realised exactly how close the Castle is to Farringdon Station, as I walked past it the other day. It means I only have to worry about getting off the train at the other end.
