"Thousands" of officers at big junctions during the rush hours to keep an eye on things.

I wonder if they'll all actually know the rules. Last time a copper stopped me on a bike he got it all wrong and thought having no rear brake on a fixie was illegal...

My commute times vary so much I will probably see very few coppers.

It's worth noting that it's 2500 over that time period and not 2500 everyday.
With it being at junctions and them wearing hi-viz. It only makes a difference there and then. Makes no difference to how drivers behave the rest of the time.

Is it really fair to go bashing coppers just because they aren't as cool as you?

I was waved to stop by a copper again this morning. The thing is I was accelerating past a junction, I just shouted 'Sorry late for work!' and carried on. I was half expecting a stinger further along the road and be taken down by Tazer.

To begin with I didn't like them being there. But I'm coming round to the idea. Seen a few motorists being told of for encroaching on the ASL area and such like. Also nice to see cyclists without lights and RLJ'ers getting a rollocking. I have yet to be told off by one

What happens if you just cycle on rather than stop? Are they going to give chase on them dodgy front sus 5 ton bikes they use?

Today, I got left hooked by a car on CS2. It is a junction where left hooks are common, cars come from a side turning on the right, turn right and then left into another side turning across a bus lane, so I knew the danger and could slow down. There was a policeman on the corner. Staring at us. Didn't move a muscle.

And then I was waiting at the lights in one of the big blue ASLs and the BMW driver next to me stopped behind the line. Then, whilst the lights were still at red he just put the car in gear and drove right into the ASL. There was a policeman right next to him who told him to pull over after the lights turned green. I mean why do that? How can you be so inattentive as to not notice around 6 policeman - all in high viz with POLICE on it - standing at the junction with one next to your driver window at the crossing?

Other than that much better than yesterday when it seemed everyone wanted to knock me off my bicycle.
