got there, saw about 50 riders plus some cameramen gathering, got off the bike to retrieve my phone (couldnt regonise anyone in the dark, so was going to try and text someone) then heard the bells of Big ben chime and realised I was already running late.

yes, not been back long and the atmosphere was great. saw a few cameramen and saw somebody being interviewed. have just reviewed the london news on the tivo and seen it was somebody from the blogs. total coverage was about 8 minutes , BBC having better coverage than ITV. spent about 30 minutes ther in total and had a sensible ride home.

Was there, good atmosphere and a really good turnout considering it was threatening to rain. When it came back to parliament square the second time we stretched completely around the junction.
I sampled both the front and the back of the group, good mix of young and old on all sorts of bikes and didn't see anyone do anything silly or get knocked off, only a couple of inpatient motorists/mopeds. Female cyclists were still a bit of a minority though. Police were helpful and not heavy handed at all and the marshalls were great and very ballsy at blocking off the junctions.
One weird thing I saw going home was a guy on a bike with a clipless pedal and cycle shoe on one side and a flat pedal and trainer on the other, probably a good idea considering the average speed was about 2mph during the ride!

Lots of people turned out, still importing the near 400 photos I took, saw a few fellow video camera cyclists and a few CCers.
A few issues with the police and blocking the roads at the first time round of parliament square. This caused the group to be split and the motor vehicles got between the group which caused further issues. In one case an idiot driver nearly ran over a few cyclists and sped down the road with someone clinging on to the side.

I was on telly for a couple of milliseconds on BBC!!
I assume this is what was being reported on on BBC Breakfast this morning 8:20 - 8:30 ish? There's a big TV in reception here showing mostly 24 hour news and I walked in (in full "lycra" having come in on the big bike) in the middle of the report from London. Then there was quite a good bit about Amsterdam, and Magnatom's tanker (inevitably) and someone being cut up by a blue car, if anyone recognises that bit of headcam footage. Stood there in my cycle kit watching the whole thing (thus ending up even later than I already was...)
