I have a course in London early Feb next year at Crowne Plaza Battersea. I'll need to overnight one night. I am keen to have a pedal around London while there, although if I stay in another hotel I'd like a vaguely-pleasant cycle to the course with little 'getting lost' potential.
Can any locals comment if this is possible? I'll probably also cycle from the station (Euston) to wherever I'm staying.
I've not had an opportunity to cycle in London since most of the cycle-superhighways were put in; so my experience is a bit out of date; but I was used to cycling in the very centre north/south (Euston <-> Waterloo) and east/west (along the Strand) to change stations in London - probably 3 years ago now! However, I've not done a London rush-hour. I do cycle commute daily in Manchester (just over 3 miles each way), but I know London's more hectic.
I'd probably not want to have to do more than 5 miles cycling to get to the hotel (I know it's a bit further from Euston).
I'm also keen to see any particularly good examples (if any!) of cycle infrastructure - I might even go out my way to see some if there are any suggestions. I'm sure you can also show many bad examples... I saw a tweet a while back about speed bumps being installed on one segregated path for motorbike deterrence, if anyone knows where that is I'm keen to see it.
TIA
