Friend of mine who used to live in London in the 60s said the rule they had was nothing south of the river or north of the park, can't remember which park but at worst it would be Regents, surely anything further out is a barren wasteland, probably Hyde, St James wouldn't leave much.
Isn't it funny how most people who've lived in London and left always think the time they were there was its heyday, as in 'we had a fabulous time in the 50/60/70/80/90s, etc., but I wouldn't live there now' sort of thing.
