Londoners help! Best places to stay in West End

Any advice is a waste of time until the OP decides how much money he wants to spend. Once the budget is clear, then it's down to soft stuff like location, facilities etc

I stayed here last week and it was fine, I've paid more in London to stay in dumps, the location was perfect for us, what's the point in going to London and not staying "in" it? The kitchen facilities and a Sainsbury's 2 mins walk away were very useful.

Colleagues of mine are staying in Tower Bridge Road right now thanks to AirBnB. £99 a night for two bedrooms and a big lounge plus kitchen and TV room,

I recently stayed at the Premier Inn hotel in Earl's Court - a three-minute walk from the underground staion.

It was clean, comfortable, quiet, had a good breakfast, cheap beer at the bar and costs £59 a night for the room.

as @vickster points out, he can catch the train home, so I think the hotel has to better than Premier Inn. It's got a to be a treat, to be worth the expense.

St Martins Hotel was the last word a few years ago (Paris Hilton checked out of the Hilton and checked in there). Weird, because it's in a old 60s office block, but it's lovely apparently. I've eaten there, and it was very nice.

Yes I can't see why you would stay in Earl's Court or Tower Hill or Victoria etc after the theatre. Would be nearly as quick to get home from Waterloo. Unless spending the following day in London too
