Long sleeved jersey?

I'm looking at Evans Cycles, and there's a few a like. But I'm unsure if any of them would be suited for wet weather?

I don't mind if it's a 'team' one, or a simple plain jersey.

I wouldn't want a tight fitting one, but is this down to personal preferance?


Also would you wear anything under them?

If it's wet, you'll want something windproof, with some water resistance at the least. Properly waterproof tend to be boil in the bag unless you spend ££££ and even then

The race line is a performance fit and thus will be highly fitted. Night vision less so

The bianchi one In a small will be very small

The mountain bike ones will be baggy but are an errrr acquired taste

I have a specialized allez one which is good, but too warm now. Maybe short sleeves and arm Warmers better for spring into summer

Not really no, the mountain bike ones will be a thinner material so you'll need to layer up. Road ones are mostly of a goner,al type for cooler weather. Roadies wear arm Warmers and short sleeves in the summer cos they is 'ard

Personally I just wear a long sleeve running top or high quality merino, with either a short sleeve jersey over the top or better still a gilet

The Adidas ones are nice too and not to thick, but you'll roast if over about 10 deg once warmed up

I'll keep looking and I'll try and decide on one tomorrow.

What I normally wear is a t-shirt and a flourescent yellow very light jacket and cycling 'mtb' shorts

Don't wear cotton for any distance, the sweat just stays damp. Look at merino or bamboo, great non stinky natural materials. Synthetics get pongy sooner or later. Try a snow and rock, outdoorsy place, not cheap though for good quality stuff

Go to a few shops and look at jerseys, not really the right time of year. A gilet is indispensable

Yep, castelli high end, could search around for second hand, or reduced

If you want great kit, it costs, especially when starting to talk technical fabrics

I'd go with ss, arm Warmers, gilet

Do any of the products spec's suggest they are water proof, water resistant etc? No? Then they are not designed for wet weather, read the spec and do some thought exercises.

How can it be so damn hard to choose a shirt?

You could try these guys http://www.torm.cc/index.html. They are well-regarded although I have not used them. Not waterproof but will keep you warm in the wet.

Going to buy a short sleeve jersey. It's an Altura Team Short Sleeve.

I have a 34" chest (87cm) ... Can't believe I have to buy the extra small !!!!

Also buying a base layer too. Endura Transmission Short Sleeve
