I confess that l am excited by the prospect of giving the bike a makeover to my taste !!

That took a kilo off the weight then

I have already started altering things foremost of which is all down to Balkan Express ....have a guess !

Bloody hell, another beauty!

Don't l know it ....funny thing is that the person l bought it off really had very little appreciation of what he had. In fact he assured me that it was quite light because it was made of aluminium....l'm afraid l let him continue to believe that !

It's isn't so hard to find nice classic bikes in France there are literally thousands of bicycles for sale at any one time. Of course they aren't all classics but take a look at Le bon coin and you will see what l mean !

Eagle eyes absolutely right , the guy l bought it from was most apologetic about the back tire being flat and he gave me a brand new inner tube .....l just haven't got round to fitting it yet . There is another reason and l will post a revised photo tomorrow !

I keep trying and sometimes it pays off ( you gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you meet a prince/princess) . Probably not the wisest utterance as l live in France

I suppose with a far longer history of cycling as a sport than we have there are still plenty of top quality older machines around, as opposed to the mainly run of the mill home grown machines that crop up here.
