Look At My Ridiculous Bicycle

Bravo!
Here's my cheap but neat-ish arrangement, very much in the same spirit. Extremely cheap/salvaged plastic brake levers turned back-to-front to get the cables out the way, and bar-end shifters, which are fairly cheap new.

The discs are only mechanical if that makes a difference.

I consulted at the weekend with the LBS owner who facilitated my acts of whimsy about this and we looked at fitting bar end shifters or sti levers, but it would cost over £100 and I think that money would be better put towards my next bike.

... although I could get some second hand myself ...

Please tell me more about these '90 degree banjo connectors', though.
Are the mechanical discs lacking in any way that would make you would fit hydraulics? I'm interested as I want to upgrade a hybrid from V- brake to disc. Should I be ok with mechanicals or are hydraulics the way to do it?

If you start your own thread you'll probably get a few more replys.

Generally the cheaper mechanical discs are pretty rubbish.
Avid BB7s are the only mechanial brakes i've tried that were any good; but i'm sure there must be others.
