Ride It Like You Stole It!
Just got this out of the attic - last used on my 30th, nearly 10 years ago. Had this since I was 3....

Kids are practicing as my daughter is going to her school mate's scalextric party at a model racing club tomorrow - big 8 laner apparently.

12 working cars, 3 are in the box as the motors died ;)

I used to love Scalextric. Just looking at that picture brings back memories of school holiday days spent playing for hours with mates.

Excellent, my Renault was by far my favorite. I got the tyres worn in lovely and smooth and added plastercine to the inside of the side pods so it cornered fantastic - happy days.

Of course Scalextrix is cars...........racing round a plastic track and is total folly.

.....but immense fun. I had loads of track and cars when Scalextrix was Scalextrix.

Sold it all for £62 when I left home to go to university. Something I have come to very much regret ;).

Now, you just need a pair of turbo trainers, some dynamos, some electronic bits and pieces and a couple of bikes and you can pedal power it....

Forgot to say, glad to see you have the proper old school 'Dodgy blue mass' transformer. Mine powered the main beam on a Morris Traveller headlight which I used to shine out of my bedroom window as some kind of search light. (Mainly it must be noted into the bedroom of Hilary Pearce who lived opposite, and I fancied as much as any 9 year old could).

looks brilliant. Used to love my Scaletrix. Me and my mates used to join all our tracks together then argue afterwards at which bit of tracks was who's. If you were lucky you ended up with a couple extra bits.

All my track had the letter 'D' painted in Airfix silver on the underside so there were no arguements. All the straight available for streets around could be put together for fantastic drag races - magic!
