Try reading the entire thread instead of the bits that you want to argue about. Like I did.
I did, including all the other posters who also concluded you were wrong.

An expensive bike is £200 to me not because thats all i can afford but because i doubt very much any more would make my cycling any more enjoyable

Anyone who admits they are wrong has no place on an internet forum. So, you read my first post. Then my second in which I admitted I was wrong in the first, and then chose to tell me I was talking bollocks in the first post?

You need a recumbent. You're everybody's friend when you ride a 'bent, even Ronnie Pickering grins and gives you a thumbs up.All I need now is a tall-bike project to lift my game to the next level.
Now, I find that odd, as I get told that I have more money than sense for riding my Bianchis all year round!these rich summer bunnies who've had their uber posh bikes locked up all winter.
When I ride my hardtail MTB. The boys on FS give me the rolling eyes look. You know the one? The boys on road bikes do the same thing. That's one end of the snobbery scale.
But when I'm on my tourer or Audax-thang, everyone leaves me alone. I've been met half way by most of the tribes.
Now when I ride my cargo bike EVERYONE gives me high-fives and suffers from serious bike envy. King of the hill stuff.

Funny that in all my years of riding different style bikes I have never to my knowledge had people roll thier eye's at me, are you sure this is actually happening and not an imgination. Also do I need to look differently at the people who are not riding the same style of bike as I am at that time, despite having one of the same at home.
