Have you got any charity warehouses near you? We've got two that I know of in Stafford and they've always got exercise bikes. They go for very little usually. There must be millions of the things out there sitting idle in spare rooms that were bought with the best intentions. If you've already got a bike you could use a turbo as a warm up. The charity shops have got those too, by the shed load. No one wants the old turbos these days. They want the fancy smart ones. I've seen brand new boxed turbos going for as little as a fiver but the norm is about a tenner.

When I needed one for a static charity ride I looked on Ebay, a nearby charity shop had one listed.
I think it was a tenner to collect.

@Big John
Sorry, please excuse my knowledge.
What is a turbo?
I have 2 bikes, one for fine weather and a winter bike.
I am willing to take notice of your advice John. Thank you.

What is a turbo?
A turbo trainer. You fit your bike to one and it turns it into an indoor exercise bike.

These days nearly everyone is changing to smart turbo trainers which connect to TVs and offer a graphical representation of you riding a virtual route. They are fun, but expensive (hundreds of pounds), and would be overkill for just doing a warmup on.

The good thing is that there is now a glut of old fashioned 'dumb' turbo trainers for sale by people who have upgraded to smart turbos. A quick search on ebay showed quite a few for sale in the Rotherham area for a few tens of pounds. Buy one of them?

It is just for me to warm up before using my weight bench in my spare room

I am in Rotherham and I would be willing to collect from areas of Rotherham or Sheffield.
Thank you.

What’s wrong with doing a few press ups and gradually building up the weights as you get in to the session.
