You might find it easier to book a guided tour. Have a look at the CTC web site to start with.

The CTC tour holidays can be found here http://www.cyclingholidays.org/tours/index.php

It isn't too hard to sort out your own tour.

If you cant find a group to tour with go it alone.
I did my first tour last year in France 5 weeks June/July always wanted to try touring but had never really got round to it. But now 62, so l thought well if l don't do it soon l never will.
It was brilliant... camped all the time except for one night in b/b. Meet loads of people and the French are great and very hospitable.
I'm planning next year tour to go for longer and further (Rhine /Danube to Black Sea and then back through the Med island hopping)bit adventures but l can always curtail my ambitions should the body not live up to my expectations!

Best of luck with finding a group to ride with.

+1 for go it alone, I've never tried it before and have a 1000+ mile 3 week trip around the Alps and Pyranees planned for next July, wing and a prayer the whole way:thumbsup:

Best of luck... when l left St Malo on my first day never knew what road to get on hence my 1/2 mile trip on the motorway!!
I found l learnt quickly when the speed limit's 110km (didn't get anywhere near it) great fun for an oldie.
Riding over the Pont de St Nazaire in high winds and heavy rain made the old backside tighten up....
Cant wait for April 2012 and to be off again.

I would love to do the same thing and have a leisurely tour with like minded people as I always seem to be cycling on my own. I'm only 52 now and have as much time on my hands as I want after taking voluntary redundancy/early retirement at 47.

Grab a tent mate, setting off from Vallence on the 1st of July and finishing in Lourdes 3 weeks later, one thing I can guarantee is leisurely  https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/swmbo-she-say-yes.88699/post-1591179

I will have to organise something for next year as I just need a set of panniers as I have all of my camping equipment already as I walked the Coast 2 Coast over thirteen days in July of this year. It would just be a change to cycle with someone else and plan a leisurely tour!

Well you are more than welcome to join me, just drop me a pm if you want further details

I'm hoping to use the CTC York rally as the first stop on a slow tour. Not sure if I can afford to move from York to Hull and Ferry it to Netherlands or maybe just head over the Humber bridge and do some Linclolnshire and Norfolk for a couple of weeks, maybe call on a few old friends in the Norfolk and Suffolk area. Train back from the furthest point. Main thing for me is to take aleisurely pace and not schedule too may definite plans and feel rushed.
