Looking for an old large union jack flag

They usually have a stash (unless they chuck ´em away) of flags.

Ebay has loads --- but what do you mean by large?

5ft x 3ft seems to be a popular size

a few at 8ft x 5ft

Most have a buy it now price at < £15

1 at 11ft x 5.5ft - described as antique - £49-99 opening bid though

We have a flagpole out the back for the kids. One thing to watch it that flags look a lot smaller when they're up in the air. If you're going to fly it, get a BIG one!

Our national flag is (cough) correctly named the Union Flag and only when flown from the jack staff on one of HMS ships is the term 'Union Jack' correct.

Personally I'd only fly the flag of St.George.

We've got a Lion Rampant of Scotland up just now, we've also had a Saltire, Scull & Crossbones and a Stars & Stripes when my sister was over. I like the pirate flag best myself :0)

The idea that the Union Jack should be called the Union Flag when used on land is relatively modern, from the 1930s. The jack staff of H.M. ships takes its name from the jack, not the other way round. When in 1908 the then Home Secretary announced it could be used as a national flag by the people he used the term Union Jack.
