new member looking for information on age of raligh all steel ladies bike .the number on the seat post is 9692 BH. the bike is black with red pin stripe.it has a front dynamo hub and a rear sturmey archer 3 speed hub with the number 63 on it the wheels are 26",and has rod brakes .the bike is all original condition with lights . going to do light restoration to keep as is.

Yes, and the number after this will be the month the hub was made.

Pretty sure they were producing Rod braked bikes well into the 70's

This one is a 79 so they may well have continued into the 80's

Raleigh built rod braked 3-speeds until around 1983/84!

@raleighnut I believe the one in your photo is a "Popular" with 28" wheels. It makes my rod braked Raleigh look sporty!
