Having finally persuaded my husband to get back on his bike, after 17 years, in order to escort our 15 year old on training rides, I find I have a problem with his shoes.

He will not want to change the pedals on his bike, so I am trying to find some (vintage) Sidi cleats, as I know his were a bit worn when he stopped riding. The shoes themselves are black (kangaroo) leather, with little other embellishment. The cleats are the white plastic type, which are a pain to replace.

Here's hoping someone can help!

Vintage cleats

Oh yes, most definately. He promised then he was not going to 'adulterate' his bikes with plastic pedals!

Mind you, he has admitted that our son finds it easier with his SPD pedals and cleats.

You'll struggle to get a pair of original Sidi's I'd have thought. I've seen a couple of places that do cleats for traditional pedals namely Dromarti (who make beautiful shoes too) and Yellow Jersey in the States. I think these are made to fit on standard 3 bolt look type shoes (only using 2 of the bolts) so it'll depend on what shoes he has. If were talking proper old school there's some Nail-on cleats on ebay. ;)
