Looks like my commute is changing...

It would seem my commute will be changing in December. We've just had our offer accepted on a new house! ;)

So from December (if the whole sale/purchase thing goes well, fingers crossed) I'll have a 10 mile (ish) one way commute to work instead of a 5 mile (ish) commute. Oh and it'll have more hills on it!

So does anyone on here have any opinions on the best route from Torrance to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow?

Congratulations! I hope the sale goes through really smoothly.

Whoever can give Magnatom routes from Torrance to the Southern General Hospital, could you try to include some relevant routes that potentially include some wolf whistling females please! ;)

Aye I'm looking forward to the commute.

However, depending on the route I take, some of it will be on a busy A road, which isn't the most fun to cycle along. That's why some local advice would be appreciated.

What I am really chuffed with is the fact that I am now closer to the Campsie hills (Glasgow's cycling Nirvana for hill climbing) so I'm really looking forward to my Saturday morning runs! B)

Fingers crossed. We are lucky in that we have first time buyers for our house (generous parents!) and the house we are moving to is empty, so no chain either side. We just have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for the missives to be complete...

Is this to fit the soon-to-be-larger family Magnatom then?

It is indeed. However, of greater importance (and it sounds snobbish saying this) was the schools in the area. My oldest will be at school next August and registration begins in January.

I hear you Dr M. We've stayed put for exactly the same reason even though this means a big commute and the occasional night away for the excellent Mrs Dr Bollo. It's a sacrifice I'm prepared for her to make.;)
