I potentially have a lengthy job next year in Los Barrios. Maybe 6-8 weeks in summer. Anyone suggest a good cycle hire company for road bikes. I did a Google search but only got Murcia bike hire which is too far away.
Wondered if anyone used anyone in that area and has recommendations

Not possible, I carry 3 pelican hard cases full of specialist stuff so a bike on top just not possible but thanks for the suggestion

You are already well over the baggage limit, and I'd assume you have your own clothing etc, so why not a bike in a bag as well ?

Company rules must fly so no car option. Could be sent direct to next job which may be anywhere in world and they wouldn't be happy if I had to take car home first Suppose would be same for bike, I could end up having to fly it from Spain to Mexico for example with me. Hiring is easier, just hand it back and go to next job

The other alternative is to buy a bike, and sell it after. Could be cheaper if you ride often.

Not that immediate area but Malaga is easily accessible for you and I have can recommend this company. I've hired bikes from them and prior found them very helpful providing cardboard boxes (FOC) for me to fly out back to the UK.

£150 a week for a carbon road bike is pretty good IMO and it being a small indie you may be able to drive that down for a longer rental.

Edit:- I see they have 2 shops now, I used the one in Pedragaleo, Juan Sebastián Elcano, 50.

8 weeks is going to cost you at least £500 IMO to hire, so I'd be looking at ways round this.

Try a bike touring company (UK based) as they might be able to sort you something out. The chap I use in Alicante would probably do this but he's too far away.

A Brompton will fit in a large peli case, you can also buy a hard case for them

Thank you all. Great suggestions and will be checking out the hire companies and contacting everyone that has been suggested.

I should be able to expense out the 150 ish a week for hire bike. We can expense out gym membership etc. If on a site long enough so the rental is still a good option
