............and I am as calm and patient a man as you will meet. The new guy is with me for 3 days, today was the first, it's like he has an unyielding urge to be as close to me as if we were super glued together, I don't like it and had to hide at lunch time. But it's the questions, they just never stop.

Him - I am thinking of going to Tunisia, have you been?
Me - No.
Him - What's it like?
Him - Do you have a guinea pig?
Me - No.
Him - Have you ever had one?
Me - No.
Him - Are they easy to keep?
Him - How long will it take me to get to East Midlands Airport from here?

It went on all day, I am tense and want to throttle him at 8am.

Edit - I said I needed to go to the toilet and he said should he come with me!!!!

Be wary. I had a "colleague" like that. It went from extremely annoying to another level when he followed me into the changing rooms and asked me for money while I was naked.

Two weeks later the police were involved when he exploded at a lady in HR.

Later again I found he had "borrowed" £250 off another guy at work.

There's a reason we don't trust odd people.

Tell him you ride a bike, that seems to make quite a few people dislike you.

If that does not work stick your tongue in his ear, hopefully that will have the right effect, if not then run.

Other newbies get the pleasure of spending a few days with me as I am a friendly sort. :okay: So I do know that it is nerves but his behaviour is extreme, and was from the very first minute we met, he'd scrambled my brain my 10 o'clock. It's like his mouth fires out questions that his brain never thought of. I recall another happy 5 minutes fending off persistent questioning of my knowledge of condensation in porches, my knowledge being zero, something I kept telling him. :cursing:

I would try and chill out a bit. This guy sounds like my brother in law, and he's a great guy, but as you say annoying at times. Cut him some slack and accept him for what he is. your both being paid by the hour I assume?

I have known some people like that. All I want to do it grab them, shake them violently and tell them to calm the f* down whilst also slapping them!

Instead, I will subtly ask them if they ever shut up?? Unfortunately that doesn't work often.
