That's it, that's what put me on edge, as one daft question hit me, another (usually unrelated) was already leaving his lips. I am going to talk about "personal space" first thing in the morning.

Yep, I have come across that type before. You either have to take evasive action and just be rude to them, letting them 'know', OR.... You just grin and bear it before running away at the first available opportunity.

Hilarious...

Is he 'young'.

Lots of youngsters really struggle these days with proper conversation and how to interact properly.

You might need to be a bit more blunt. Does sound very much like nerves as some folk can't cope with silence - we get some right moments in senior management meetings when the boss has demanded something really stupid, and you all shut up and think, before you answer - some folk can't do that.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
It sounds quite funny when seeing what you have typed, but I am sure it is anything but from you're point of view. if I were you I'd be very careful. You never can tell what is going through a person's mind at any time. In his case it appears not a lot, but he could have underlying problems. Personally I'd have word with HR.

Good luck.

One thing I've learned over the past 3 years, lots of people have loads of issues and they don't always manifest themselves the way you'd expect or even affect the people you would expect. Just because someone is a bit different, even though it's very annoying, doesn't make them an axe murderer.

Of course, he could be, in which case, I would lock all the doors and switch out all the lights and hope nobody notices you.
