Bad times! It was our anniversary yesterday so I took a bit of a shorter route home to get back a little earlier . I'd been home for maybe an hour when I noticed I didn't have it on. We then spent our whole evening retracing my steps but we couldn't find it. I can only think now that it has somehow fallen off on the way home. I can imagine the probability of finding it even if I go back exactly the same way are incredibly thin. Gutted does not come close

Oh no, that's sad news.

Mrs Ian lost her wedding ring once, we were both very upset about it. Looked into buying a new one. A couple of weeks later she found it. At the bottom of the laundry basket in the cupboard.

So try not to despair. It may turn up when and where you least expect. Fingers crossed.

I lost my wedding ring after about 6 months of marriage. I took it off at work, and never found it again! Not sure where someone nicked it.
Insurance paid out for a new one.

I've never really understood the concept of buying a new wedding ring. It's not the ring you got wed with. My BIL lost his, never replaced it as he said it wasn't the ring he got married with so didn't have the same symbolism.

Hubster lost his ring and he searched the changing room at the swimming pool for it. I went back in the pool to see if it had come off there. We found it, at home, in the washing up bowl (behind a spoon) where it had slid off as he was carrying out his husbandly duties. He does now have a new one as he's lost a lot of weight and the original one is way too big. It's titanium so resizing is not really an option.

@MickeyBlueEyes Hoping your ring turns up at home or at work. I would think that it falling off while riding is unlikely. Check your 'works' sinks.

I panicked when nearly lost mine. Found it almost by chance. It happenbed when I put something heavy down as it pulled it off. Did you do that by any chance?

How much does it cost to Oldham?
I thought this was gonna be an R.I.P. Thread.

i lost mine in the north sea while out for a surf. it was so cold it just slipped off my finger.
Bought one very similar a couple of weeks later and we all moved on. Just as long as i don't loose one of the kids.

My mate Ruddy lost his wedding ring during The Winter of 2010. He reckon his fingers had shrunk with the cold and it had fallen off at football one night. He didn't want his good lady to find out so bought a new one. When the ice and snow started to thaw, he discovered the original in a puddle outside his patio door.
