Pish !
Drive on average around 12 hours a day,5 or 6 days a week for almost 30 years without an accident and that doesn't show you're a good or safe driver ?
Yeah ok...if you say so.

I hope he gets enough sleep then and isn't a LGV driver.

Thomas, going on his other comments he enjoys the wind up and reactions. Bet he hates being ignored.

Probably. I'm happy to indulge him a bit, but not going to get worked up over his comments. ;)

It's actually worrying that these people believe the crap they spout.

Advanced Driver...is that another word for boy racer?

Let's face it there are a lot of people out there who actually think they are better than they are.

I've come a cross some pretty poor driving from cop cars as well.

Don't they do this advanced driver bigger penis thing?

I had to do a H&S course a few years back and they went into the 4 levels of skill and confidence:

-Underskilled and underconfident
-Underskilled and overconfident (those that have done a job for a small while but usually still learning
-Overskilled and underconfident (usually as the result of a confidence knock, job review or having been away from the job due to illness)
-Overskilled and overconfident (cocky b*stards in other words ;))

I have never met anyone from the 4th category, I refuse to beleive it exists.

I believe this is a case of over confident & over skilled... let's hope we see no one on the roads with this sort of confidence.

RIP Collin. We miss you.

That's why he's regarded the world over as the best driver / entertainer and not the most successful. - If only he knew how to hold back a little he would have won at least three world championships instead of just one - but that's why we love Colin McRae(R.I.P.)

Yeah, to much steering dialled in on landing, breaks the bead, rim digs in, rolls the car & takes all of what? half a second to find the right gear & drive away. Legend.

You'll probably end up dead in 2010.
Sorry buddy, but riding in oncoming lane across double whites is only going to end sadly.
Er, exactly when does thomas do such a thing? Or where you referring to the driver?

Rule 129 permits crossing a solid white line to overtake a stationary vehicle, or certain specified vehicles if they are doing less than 10mph:

"129: Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid. This means you MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less"

You must not, in any case, overtake alongside a junction.

Question...are all cop car drivers taught advanced driving?

Ironically I came across some shocking cop car driver at Stepney Green today going towards Whitechapel just after 2pm at a guess....Overtook me...foot to the floor...attacked the bus lane ( I blew the horn when he did that) ....undertook a load of cars then cut but in to the proper lane.Normally I see behaviour like that from the boy racer idiots.

If Vike sees this he can probably elaborate better than me, but I did watch a show on ITV this year where they demonstrated the training all Police drivers go through. I think they are retested every so often too. The training is pretty extensive

No. There are five grades of police driver:

Class 1 & 2: Authorised to drive high-performance vehicles, use blues & twos and allowed to exceed the speed limit and treat red traffic lights as Give Way signs.

Class 3: Authorised to use intermediate vehicles, and high-performance vehicles in certain circumstances.

Class 4: Authorised only to use standard vehicles, and limited use of blues & twos.

Class 5: No special training, no more powers than Joe Public except permitted to use blue lights when the vehicle is stationary (eg. to protect the scene of an accident).
