A Hase at this price? Could be an absolute bargain if genuine.

True, but can the rear hubs be replaced if they should go?

Don't see why not. I can't see too clearly from the Ebay photos, but they could well be sealed bearing type hubs - so as far as servicing goes, replacing the bearings should be straightforward. If it's anything like my Lepus (which is only slightly younger), two bearings will be in the wheel hub on the non drive side, and three in the rear frame on the drive side. Two different sizes, but easily obtainable.

Maybe not at that price... when I click on the link I just get a nasty lookalike MTB...

There’s not really anything that can wear on Hase rear hubs: they are basically solid items that fit on to the axle, the bearings are inboard and replacements can be found at a bearing supplier. At least that’s what my differential model has and I understand the one wheel drive just has a stub axle mounted in the frame rather than half length one to the diff. Although a decade of salty winter roads did result in the flanges of one of mine cracking off. I was able to get a close match from London Recumbents and rebuilt the wheel. I am very methodical at cleaning now...

+1 ^^^
The good thing about 20" wheels is they are very easy to true and tension when building them. A little more fiddly to lace without bending the spokes too much IME.
