Loud car exhausts (and a general rant about boy racers).

I could drive on the roads around here with dipped lights on, in fact I often do when oncoming traffic is seen, however main beam gives me a far better view.

I bought a Honda Fireblade many moons ago that had a fearsome exhaust fitted, people ran for cover when they heard me coming.

It drew too much attention so was duly changed to a less offensive Akropovic
Jeez, you had a Widowmaker and survived?!

If folks eyesight is so bad they have to drive in well lit towns with their dipped headlights on they should have their licenses taken away.
Again; it's about being seen, rather than helping to see. As has been said, properly adjusted dipped headlights shouldn't dazzle anyone with regulation eyesight.

Carry on driving in lit up areas with sidelights on if you must, but don't be surprised if an HGV pulls into your lane on a dual carriageway because you were not seen, or worse - a motorbike pulls out in front of you in the rain and you kill the rider :cursing:.

But the poster was refering to a FireBLADE (Honda), not the Suzuki. :okay:
Not that I'm aware of the 'blade being a particularly dangerous bike. That was the 80's Yamaha RD350LC..
Profuse apologies from me. Looks like I've lost the ability to read now ffs :reading:
Two bikes I remember being tagged Widowmaker. Suzuki TL1000R and The big Kwack triples of the '70s

Some boy racers never grow up. This hideous beast is regularly seen being driven around Barnstaple by a guy who is pensionable. 4 ltr V 8 with 3 speed auto box.

Midlife Crisis?
Nowt wrong with Midlife Crisis. I've had loads of them, they're good fun and usually gives me an excuse to buy something I want but can't justify. ^_^

the original blade was a twitchy murderer. Within 2 years of its launch a half of all UK motorcycle deaths were blade riders.

I never suggested to the contrary, so I'm not sure where this came from?

It was a '94 "Foxeye" which was frighteningly fast, I got shot of it before I lost my life or license. This was on the advice of a 2 wheeled member of Hampshire Constabulary after chasing me down a near empty A303 at 160+ mph one day. He followed me most of the way home to make sure I got the message.
