Really, your cycling doesn't look like you take that attitude. It looks like "I'll go because it's my right of way and you are wrong".

Maybe it is but I'm still ready to stop. I guess there is a big attitude diffrence between UK and Sweden. I would newer ride like this outside the city but this happends so often when I'm going to/from work that it's almost impossible not to be involved in such situations.

But I have been commuting for the past 6 years all year round and have not been involved in any accident.

Good point, watch the vid again (it helps if you big-up the view to full screen) and you will clearly see a big black and white sign that has a right arrow and the word TAXI on it.

EDIT: Oops, or maybe not.... what does Polis mean?

I don't see any signs prohibiting a right turn from that lane. From the signs on the gantry it appears that vehicles except for buses and taxis are prohibited from going straight on from that lane.

I saw a straight ahead arrow on the gantry and then a right turn arrow for the police only on the next pole.

There is a right arrow on the gantry pointing to "Skanstull" and also showing a hospital symbol. The small white on black signs below the "Polis" one also point to "Skanstull" and "Marlartorget" but as there is a cycle symbol I am unsure whether these are for the drivers or the cyclists benefit

I read the blue sign as go straight on with a picture of a bus & the text 'Gäller även taxi' which according to google translate is 'Also applies to taxi'. So busses & taxi's can go straight on only? Marlartorget is a square & park, Skanstull is a metro station both in Stockholm (this fits with the OPs location).

I can't work out the exact location of this corner however.

Yes I'm sure that they are not allowed to turn right from that lane.

The sign says that this lane is only for buses and taxis and that the lane ig going straight ahead. If there is a sign in Sweden that the lane is going straight it also meens that it is forbidden to turn from that lane.

The lane to the left of the bus/taxi lane is for traffic turning right. The sign with the text POLIS is jut an informational sign that there is a police station to if you turn right but it doesn't allow traffic in the right lane to turn right.

And yes there is another car in that lane that is turning right even though it's not allowed.

So if you were in a car and seeng someone coming from the side even though you had green light you wouldnt warn them? I don't see any diffrence between cars and bikes, you should follow the rules and if I would be in the same situation in a car I wouldn't hesitate to use my horn, why should I not use it on the bike?

What would you do in a car if you were driving and a bike came from the side and running a red light in front of you? Would you use the horn?

I don't want to put words into Mr Paul's mouth but I think what he means to say here is that even if you have a green light, you have to be a complete knob to ride into the centre of a melee and risk getting injured because it is your 'right'?
