Loving the Rain!

I am new to road cycling, having only put a year and 1500 miles in.

First proper ride in the rain today. Heavy at times, then clear for bits too.

I have to say, I really enjoyed the rain surprisingly! Anyone else got a penchant for rain by any chance?

I've had some great rides in the rain, as long as they are homeward-bound. I'm very much a utility cyclist so when I arrive wherever I've travelled to, I'd rather be dry. Then on the way home, bring it on! Well, bring it on a bit... Then you get into a warm house and get all dry and toasty, with your wet shoes drying in the airing cupboard.

It was a completely recreational ride today. Wet leaving and arriving home. No destination to worry about. I concur regarding not wanting to be soaked going somewhere though.

Hate the stuff with a passion (see avatar). Won't cycle in it given the choice, and as I don't cycle commute, I have that choice!

Just got soaked riding through a deserted Norwich city centre, past some damp RAF officers getting ready for the Remembrance event.

Not a big fan of riding in the rain. I didn't mind it in the past but last year, I rode the Cycletta New Forest 50 mile event with @Hill Wimp and @London Female and we were soaked and cold despite having waterproofs. My knee was nagging too, which didn't help. Glad I finished the ride but it took me over 2 hours to warm up again. It was about then that I went off the rain.
Getting caught in a shower on the way home is OK, I don't deliberately go out in it though.

I won't go out in it, but if it rains while I'm out it doesn't bother me as long as I have the right gear on.

I'm a bit like Granymede. I mostly only ride for transport, so a proper soaking can be a bit of a pain in the bum.
A few months ago I got caught in torrential rain on my way to an appointment with my GP. I was sat in the waiting room with water running off me. Of course, GP surgery was running late so I ended up getting very, very cold. It was very unpleasant.

I wouldn't mind it so much if my brakes worked to some degree and if it wasn't so wet My clothes took all day to dry yesterday after I got to work in the morning, that was despite wringing them out before I draped them over the heater, and as for when it gets properly cold !!!!!!

The rain lovers will be happy with the weather forecast for the next seven days then, especially if you are in the west of the UK.
Rain, rain, and more rain, with a lot of wind thrown in.
I have a theory that most of those who don't mind the rain probably live in the south east, where you don't get pummelled with the stuff day after day for months on end.

I won't go out in the rain but last "summer" got caught in major downpour. I was in short sleeves, etc and quite far from home with nowhere to shelter.
Was soaked through when I got home and had sunscreen running down my arms but I really enjoyed it.

I hate the rain, and won't go out in it ever. I have the choice, I don't commute, so I don't have to go out if the weather is bad. If it raims, I spend time on the turbo, and I don't care what others think either
