So thread drift into discussing sexism is OK then. Come on Vernon, Cycle Chat is an internet forum about cycling. Just as the Gardening forum is about gardening (and thread drifts are allowed there as well, although people have to make up stuff about imaginary gardening activities to get privileges in the Tea thread over there, rather like some people on here with their imaginary bicycles perhaps).

The cafe does not have cycling as its central theme. Cycling activities are discussed in the other parts of the board.

The high faluting stuff happens over in CAD

Think of it as being at university ... and being here is like a short break at Butlins.

Now if you ladies would take your spat and handbags over to PM and leave the cafe in peace.....

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Why don't we give the knee-jerk anti-military, left wing hippy-dippy **** a miss for a change? Some people don't half want cyclists to live up to their image as lentil weaving beardie douchebags.

And still it moves....

Most of us grew out of playing Soldiers when we were young. Seemingly some don't however, so go off on your 'noble grand quest' then......

Who cares how it started? If you've got an issue with each other then keep it off the thread.

Which should be about how cool low flying jets look. Personally I'm prepared to put politics (whether military or sexual) aside and admire a feat of engineering and skill blast by.

I've seen them over the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Northumberland and many other places. An incredible sight really.

Stopped off on yesterday's 40 mile ride and directly above me there were about half a dozen gliders all circling and in the distance there were 2 powered aeroplanes towing a further 2 gliders into the air.

Yeah its something I'd like to do, but 'tis expensive as far as I'm aware.

Also I think the nearest place to here is in the east anyway

So pretty much irrelevant as a diversion in a topic entitled "low flying military aircraft".

No I dont think so.

Actually I was on this thread from the beginning, unlike some people. The thread was about not only low flying aircraft, but fast low flying aircraft, which excludes microlights.
However they have been and are being discussed.

Personally I don't have a problem with low flying aircraft, whether jets, prop planes, microlights, helicopters, or anything else. They can be wonderful to see. I have been driving home from work and a jet has passed me going down the valley, going in the same direction im going. Its been almost at the same height as the road. It's an incredible sight.
