Now that I understand group set little bit more but not fully 😊

If I have a choice between Cannondale Sora ($1400) Cannondale Tiagra ($1750) Norco Valence 105 ($1700) Giant defy advanced 2 ($2600 way above my budget but maybe worthed)

Cyclechat gurus, for a first bike owner which one is the best. I am not gonna use the bike for commuting but for training on a trainer in the winter (those -30 days) and in the spring and the summer outside.

For me it would probably be a toss up between the Sora or Tiagra Cannondale. What are the frame warranties like and which Dale is the better colour?

Norco are a really good brand, I’m sure they’re Canadian, I had a used Norco hybrid about 10 years ago and paid nothing for it as no one had heard of it.

Evans used to sell them in the UK, the quality is on a par with Specialized

If someone asks you what bike you have and you tell them it’s a Norco you might get a rather puzzling look but if you tell them you have a Cannondale you’ll probably get a 👍.

The Dale with Tiagra would be my choice, they make very good Aluminium frames, if you search round you might find a 2019 Dale with 105 for the same or less money.

Cannondale Tiagra for me. I have had Tiagra/105/Ultegra past few years and shifting difference is minimal.
I have also got a 'USA MADE' Cannondale, so will always have a soft spot for the brand.

BIL has a Norco (MTB/hybrid?) and I recently did some servicing on it. It might be a lower end model and I may have put it bottom of the list when he told me the selection of bikes he was considering buying, but the thing that struck me when working on it was just how basic, agricultural and heavy it was.....

Got Tiagra on my commuter and it is faultless despite year-round, all-weather use, over 5000 miles and all good. Sora now has the similar paddle levers and hidden cables so I wouldn't hesitate to buy a bike with Sora (My best bike has Ultegra).
