Came off my bike this morning due to icy road.
I was at a country lane at the time and I'm so glad that I wasn’t cycling too fast and there was no car behind me!

I could have ran over by a fast car either behind me in that situation.

A driver from the opposite lane stopped and asked if I'm OK, thumb up for him.

Scary when it happens. I think the really scary part isn't the coming off but the thought of all the traffic around you while you kiss tarmac. I did my recent skating lesson right in the middle of Bolletta's school run - not an ideal place to be.

Phew....close one

Glad you are okay.

Hows the bike?

Both me and my bike are OK, i'm so glad that I have installed a pannier rack for disk brake frame on my V brake bike. (it is slighter wider than the derailer so it will take the hit instead)

Very Icy. Was Cycle to Work day for us, big turn out despite the ice, although one of the routes did see cars sliding, and narrowly miss a couple of cyclists.

Yes, i was only thinking about how to fall at the momemnt when I knew I'm going down.

Normally, I'll fall to the left to avoid traffic and avoid damageing to the derailer, but for some stupid reason today, I fell to the right...

Interesting listening to your tales of ice and chill's.

Down here in London, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was spring already, it was really mild yesterday and almost "sweaty" in the office this morning.

I gather worse weather is on its way tho.

S.Manchester surprisingly bad today. There was a lot of rain last evening, followed by a surprisingly sharp frost overnight = ice everywhere. No gritting either ;)

Side roads very slippy in places, main roads mostly ok - bar the frozen puddles near the edges, and in the potholes. A good reason for staying well clear of the gutter.

Sorry to here about your "off" this morning - glad you(and your bike) are ok.

Good on the car driver for stopping - most are human after all.

My only worry were " if there is a car behind and is it driving fast?".
I dont cycle that fast so I rarelt injury myself and my bike, but I couldnt stop a car running over me

Forecast is Snow this afternoon from Midlands upwards.....let's hope it sticks......playtime on the way home..........

Sorry but I really don't understand why you would want it to "stick".

Aren't there enough ar53s out there without having to contend with "other" factors.

I don't like falling off in normal conditions without increasing my chances in ice and snow.
