As long as I breathe, I attack.
My weekdays consist of:
  • 5.20 am - getting up
  • 6 am - cycling the ten miles to work
  • 7am till 4pm - manual work lumping car parts
  • 4.15pm - cycling ten miles home
  • 4.50 pm get in and get dived on by wife and kids that assume that a hot and sweaty dad has nowt better to do than deal with screaming family
  • 5.30pm - dinner
  • 6- 7.30 pm- playing with kids, washing pots etc
  • 7.30pm till 9pm -getting baby to bed then spending a bit of time with eldest , then either myslef or wife gets him to bed , if its wifes turn i might nip to the garage and do a quick weight circuit
  • 9pm till 10pm - spending quality time with mrs CK. cyclechat
  • 10pm till 5.20am - reading / sleep
SO - the only chance I get for extra exercise is the commute' as we only get half an hour for lunch , in reality 20 mins as you need to get back to your rest area and back on the job by the end of dinner buzzer.
Saturdays I look after my children, do the house work while the wife is at work work and we Sundays 50 % chance of a club run or family time and visiting relatives.
I'm not moaning at all, just looking for reassurance that I'm not the only one I guess!

Whats this lunch hour ??

I never exercise at lunchtime because I can't be arsed getting changed, and I never extend my commute because I can't be arsed getting out of bed early! However, I cycle 80-100 miles per week and play football, so I'm not doing too badly exercise wise.

I do a manual job and only get half an hour for lunch, by the time I've fed my face theres no time for a ride, if there was time for a ride I still wouldn't, I'd want to save my energy for the rest of the shift.

I often go for a walk at lunch time, otherwise eat and surfing the net time.

There's a gym downstairs and many people go to that at lunch for some exercise.

I ride enough, 35 miles a day sometimes 60. I don't want to be riding at lunchtime as well. The clue is in the name L u n c h t i m e, a time for eating. If you are a part time cyclist then maybe you have to look for more opportunities to cycle.
