lycra short sizing

Just got delivered a pair of pearl izumi shorts in an xl, normally you go a size bigger. However think the sizing might be generous! They fit ok but not as tight ss I thought they would be? These are bib types so was expecting them to be tight off the bike.

Change them for a smaller size?

PI are quite generously sized. Think they are an American brand Go a size up in anything Italian (if not two or three sizes. Altura are true to size, Gore are ok too

Before I buy any cycle clothing online I always check the sizing chart of the brand. 9 outta 10 company,s have one on their website, or just tap said brand sizing chart into Google.
