Having just returned from a short hols (very nice thanks) I have a few concerns:

1. What did you do to the weather in this country whilst I was away?

2. I have had one or two (progresssively more alarmist) emails from Transport for London letting me know that transport in the capital is facing complete armageddon in the next few weeks and that the only way for me to commute from Zone 5 to central London is pretty much to walk between the hours of Midnight and 3am.

3. The above is reinforced by Southeastern Trains giving me a leaflet this morning saying that my bike is not welcome at all on their services anywhere during the 'lympics at any time.

Despite the storm clouds remaining on the horizon for the foreseeable future I am heartened that my local train operator is entering into the sporty spirit of the season by encouraging me to cycle the full route daily (and not to chicken out by getting the train halfway on rainy days like before).

I'm really pee'ed off, I usually ride up Box hill to get from home to work... some idiot has put some stupid bike race on up there during the olympics... Everyone knows it's not even a sport, next thing you know they'll have football and tennis in it! They even have the temerity to close it for the whole day by riding up the flaming thing 9 times... some people have no consideration..honestly!

And don't forget that Southeastern trains are cutting the number of services into central London during the Olympics.Obviously this is for the customers benefit. To further enhance the customers' experience, Southeastern will probably run their especially short trains during this period too.

Which is ironic as we have had services cut to provide extra rolling stock for the London services!

I came round the A406 this morning and parts of that near Wembley has the Olympic lane set out. All along the embankment. Parliament Sq. The list goes on :stuffed.

My plan to get a train from Iver - Paddington and cycle all day on the beeter bike permanently moored at Paddington looks to be the only option.
That or give up,tell HP i can't go see our customers and watch the tele :smile::smile::smile:

Now that they've banned bikes from Greenwich Park, my horizon has changed slightly. It looks like NASA have taken over the park to cater for interplanetary visitors.
