I have them on my commuter, they have been faultless for the past year in all sorts of horrible weather!

Bargain if you ask me

I've used these for years on my road bike with no problems - easy to clip in and out and great value for money. Can't comment on use for MTB though.

Have 17,000km on mine and never tensioned them once (tho they need to be now). The only pedals I've ridden are 520 and 540 (for mtb) so dont have much else to compare them to, but they're fine for my use in all weather. And I've never oiled them either (pry need to do that also ).

On both my bikes - one set for the last 3 years. They are starting to creak but that's because I've never took them apart and cleaned. IIRC the second set of them cost me £12 as I didn't need the additional cleats.

Great buy.

I have a pair on my road bike and like them a lot. One thing that you have to watch out for, if you decide to buy them, is if the pedals come with cleats. Some ebay people don't supply them with the pedals , and the cleats cost silly money alone. Buy them together, about £20.

I have them on one bike. They're okay, but not fabulous. I find the clip in/clip out process nowhere near as precise as more expensive models from the range (there's no comparison between the very reassuring 'click' you get with XTRs for example) but for the price, you can't go wrong.

+ 1 to making sure cleats are included in the package.

I had a pair on my road bike for a year before investing in some SPD-SL's. No probs recommending them. I just wanted something with a bigger platform. Going to put them onto MTB when I have a spare few minutes and it stop raining so I can get out to the garage after work.

If I were you I'd spend an extra fiver and get a pair of PD M530s. They have a surrounding cage and are easier to clip into.

Interesting does your foot actually touch the cage to give you more of a platform to push down on?
I currently use m520s on roadbikes because i have a fair way to walk after my commute so spds make sense and i only want to run 1 system so my weekender has the same but if these give you a bigger platform to push on then i might go for them.
