Hi everyone. I would like to express my concern over this company, and suggest you don't purchase a bike from this website. I think it is a fraud.

They took my money and did not send a bike. Also, the manufactures do not allow these bikes to be sold online. I was foolish and feel I was ripped off.

My advice would be not to use them - NOT MATTER WHAT THEY SAY.

This is a very professional operation and is very creative. They get back to you when you have a question etc. Very convincing. Please DO NOT USE.

hosueofpayne, thank you for your post.

Since I couldn't verify the details of your post directly, I did some digging to see if your thoughts were echoed anywhere else - looks like others share your feelings too:

No sign of the quoted company Martin Allen Bike Shops Ltd being registered at Companies House which doesn't fill one with confidence.

Payments by Western Union !!!

And in the faq's
(1) Western Union and Moneygram does not allow transfers to company accounts, only via a private name.
Please do not be worried; the funds sent to us through Western Union or Moneygram will be rapidly transferred to our company account, and you will be invoiced by Mabikes.com.

Yes - this is a fraud !!

Hi

I found a bike I've been looking for at mabikes.com and ordered it. The ordering and payment of EUR 381 through Western Union was easy, and all communication with the seller was prompt and to the point and felt trustworthy.

But then after one week, DHL had not picked it up and i was sending them mail (and getting quick and relevant responses) every other day.

Then they said they would be shipping it with UPS, and I got a UPS shipping reference - but it doesn't work. And UPS has never received any shipment.

On my Western Union payment, the receiver was Florence Morgan and the address was supposed to be Calle de Miramar 10, 48992 Getxo, Spain - but when i called Western Union to report the fraud they told me that it was collected far away in a town called Fuenlabrada.

I'm gooing to report this to the Norwegian police, and maybe they can inform the Spanish police (who will probably not lift a finger from earlier experiences with them, they're probably scamming themselves, or their brothers, or their fathers).

Western Union should be subpoenaed for helping with fraud, what a company, not lifting a finger.

And I'm sticking with eBay from now on - never had any problems there after thousands of dollars spent.

So, bottom line - DON'T BUY FROM THIS / THESE ASS#0LES !!!

More scum on the web, yep we should all be wiser but the site looks professional. I'm always disappointed to see how little responsibility is taken by all the other businesses that 'collude' with these frauds.

IMO - anything with Western Union on it = Run a mile from it

Credit card payment is the way to go with a reputable online retailer, showing full contact details.

Still be carefull of Ebay, lots of feedback is a good indicator - but again be wary of what payment method they ask for.

I've seen people bidding on expensive bikes from foreign sellers with zero feedback - must be mad.

I sent the following mail to mabikes.com today and cc'ed all the addresses I could find to Cannondale, Specialized, mabikes.com web hosting company, email provider etc:

Hello “Lucia Garcia”

As this is clearly a scam using the brand names of Cannondale, Cervelo, Specialized, Trek and other top notch bike companies, I have cc’ed them in this mail. As you’re abusing the mail servers of Site5 for the scam, they are also receiving a copy, and one for your hosting partner The Planet who would be better off without scamming sites like yours.

I have also contacted the Norwegian Police, who in turn have contacted the Spanish Police, and they have been in contact with Western Union Spain and will have the copy of the ID used when collecting the money as “Florence Morgan” in Fuenlabrada, Spain.

Of course, it is annoying to lose 380 EUR, but the most irritating part is to be waiting for a Cannondale Capo that never arrives. And the fact that this has been done so professionally indicates that I might not have been the only one naive enough to fall for this scam, and more will probably follow until you’re stopped.

I will be following this further, with the police, and with all the brand names you’re abusing. I’ll do my best to disrupt your “business”.

Stop scamming bike enthusiasts and get a real job !

And if you have the guts – please return my EUR 380.
