Madison Jersey size help

Hi guys,

I recently decided to take my first tentative plunge into the shadowy underworld of Lycra cycling jerseys, I bought a cheap no brand ebay jobby but did not like the fit or the material at all! Very uncool looking (looks are important). I have been looking around for something decent that won't break the bank (too much) and found this:

This Jersey also got decent reviews in Cycling Plus recently. The problem is that I cannot find any information on sizing. Also after reading reviews of various Jerseys I am finding that people generally think that size guides are useless, some even say go two sizes up! However these rules vary from brand to brand.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this Madison brand? I am a 41 inch chest so thinking a large? I would like a reasonably close fit without being too restrictive if possible.

Any advice or alternative suggestions greatly appreciated!

Probably not much help but, I am a medium usually in all tops(I know cycling gear is supposed to be snug/aero) and I had to buy a XXL Rapha sky top. But on the other hand I bought an Altura long sleeved classic jersey in L and it was a bit big on the arms.
I don't think there is any universal guide that will help you. Apart from go into a shop and try on.

Cheers dude, I guess you're right the only problem being finding somewhere local that stocks Madison Jersey's. Its a pity wiggle don't stock them as I know they at least have a decent returns policy. Thanks for the reply

Also, does anyone have any opinions on the Madison brand generally? Any positive or negative experiences?

You can return anything bought online, but you may need to pay postage. For a jersey, put in a small Jiffy bag, should be £3 max

Being a racy team jersey, it'll be a snug fit at a guess

Site lists stockists too, just call to check stock before travelling

Or just go for dhb from wiggle

Or if you like team jerseys, look at prendas

Cheers Vickster, totally missed that one Seems like I need a Large or extra Large.

Will defo check out dhb, a lot of people seem to really rate those really highly and at least wiggle give you a free bag of Haribo
