Makita. My dad bought one for use round the house for £130 a few years ago with some drills and a spare battery. its very very good

personal choice - Bosch Blue proffesional stuff or Metabo.

sadly 150 quid wont get you much with those 2 . but the quality and customer service is there if you buy direct.
there are many who like de-walt and may be I was unlucky but the only peice of dewalt I have ever owned was a mains electric drill and it was a piece of junk. I have a Makita jigsaw (mains) that could be 20 plus years old and has taken a lot of abuse and is still reliable.
Probably Makita, but tradesmen are shying away from them now.

My two -

The Hitachi is my drill/driver. Good torque, batteries last fine. Chuck tends to work loose in use though and is difficult to tighten probably. This will be in your budget at around £120

The Kress is my go-to tool for screwdriving. Technically it's a collated drywall screwdriver but it's superb at banging in screws all day. In a factory setting with constant use, the two batteries easily get through two shifts. Pricey though.

I suspect that one is a good quality DIY version where the blue ones
http://www.screwfix.com/p/makita-dh...ion-lxt-brushless-cordless-combi-drill/6407p4 ( we have several at work) are more workshop quality and rarely let us down, batteries are good as well, hold charge etc etc.

.
Probably shying away based only on price not quality. Price seems to dictate everything nowadays, even contractors are driven to buy cheaper.

We tried Milwawkee battery drills as well....heavy duty, very powerful....but we did end up replacing them quicker than our normal Makita ones.

I have this one, Makita DHP453SMWX and very good it is too. I was advised by an electrician friend to go for the 4,0AH battery version as it lasts longer and the extra power is valuable.

Makita out of the two.

Bosch blue are highly regarded by tradesmen, but I think you'd have to be using it daily to warrant the purchase. As a DIYer I've been happy with Bosch green.

I bought this approx 5 years ago, £300 with the extra battery which wasn't cheap..

It's never failed to deliver and put up with some abuse over the years!.

You get what you pay for.
