I managed to get a week off work and I am heading off to find the sun in Mallorca tomorrow.

After some consideration I decided to take my Koga World Traveller 29 with me. It is costing £75 return for the bike. Even though there are plenty of places on Mallorca to hire road bikes I did not find too many that hired bikes with racks, and I have no idea what condition they would be in. At least I can depend on the Koga and I like riding it. I doubt if I would have saved much money if I had hired one.

I am packing the bike in a homemade, unpadded bag. The Koga is built like a Hummer and has pannier racks front and rear which will hopefully protect the wheels. I will be riding straight off from the airport and getting rid of a box would have been a pain. My bag folds down very small and goes in the pannier.

My original plan was to wild camp but I have decided against it. This is my first solo bike trip and at this time of the year it gets dark very early. Being stuck out in the dark for so many hours would not be fun and so I have booked a hotel for the first 3 nights and a B&B near the airport for the last night. I will sort Thursday night out when I decide where to go.

When I land in Palma in the South of the island I have to find my way to my hotel in Pollensa in the North. Getting out of the airport will be the first problem. I have bought a waterproof cycle map of Mallorca and I have my Garmin Gps60sx and a compass, so I should be Ok.

If anyone needs any cycle related questions answering about Mallorca just ask and I will see what I can find out.

I have solved my first problem. Will a Koga World traveller fit in a bag without removing the front wheel and then fit inside a Kia Picanto. YES it will ^_^

Will I be able to get it out again?..........................I have no idea ^_^

Thanks for that Bikepacker. I think I have Google Earthed myself out onto open roads. Fortunately straight past a Carrefours which is right next to the airport. I have printed out that article to take with me.

Just come back from there a week ago, brilliant cycling weather 26+ each day. Not that I took the bike as I was swimming in the sea everyday.
