It's a bit more complicated than that...
There's a whole new thread to be had about your choice of verb. And another about your choice of metaphor.

Maybe Strava was down because their team lost the football

Think how good it will feel when you dump cyclechat.

To anyone who thinks I am addicted to strava, an explanation is owed.

  1. I recently got a new phone. I was not sure it was configured correctly
  2. My brothers and I got together a few weeks ago. The only time this century, excluding our parents funerals.
  3. In a 12 hours between us being together, I got knocked off my bike
  4. When I finally decided to share it with them, I couldn't find the link.
  5. Blah. I knew it would come back, but it didn't in the minutes I checked so decided to share the brokenness here.

Sorry. That is 100% lost on me. Which verb? Down? I have no other to describe a website that is not there.

And the metaphor? Do you mean "man"? That's from the Latin "manus" meaning hand.

I think his meaning was that the metaphor is usually "man the ramparts" or just "battlestations"

But you burned him pretty good on the "man" thing
